VR Adventure ALICE VR Looks Gorgeous In New Trailer

If VR is all about exploring exciting new places then ALICE VR is surely something we’ll all want to check out, as this new trailer proves.

We recently reported that this intriguing first-person adventure game from Carbon Studio had been delayed into later this year, but the developer and its publisher Klabater have now confirmed a new launch window of October with the release of this new clip. It’s our best look at the title yet, with nearly two minutes of footage that’s full of story hints, gameplay teases and stunning visuals.

It’s an atmospheric clip that doesn’t give too much away, which is exactly what we want out of a story-driven game. It suggests at a compelling link between the player and their AI companion that will bring about some twists in the narrative. There are also several jaw-dropping sights too, suggesting that this is going to be a polished and immersive experience.

Set in the far flung future, the game sees players stranded on an alien planet after having to make an emergency landing. You set out to find fuel and the means to repair your ship, though you’ll quickly come to realize that all is not right with your surroundings. Any signs of life have disappeared and you’ll have to set about solving puzzles and defying gravity as you uncover exactly what has happened. The choices you make throughout the game will also lead to different endings.

As the name suggests, ALICE VR takes some cues from Charles Lutwidge’s hugely popular novel, Alice in Wonderland. Long-time VR fans may remember it as A.L.I.C.E., though it was renamed late last year.

ALICE VR is heading to the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and even OSVR’s Hacker Dev Kit along with 2D screens, though the developer insists that it is built from the ground up with VR in mind. We haven’t heard about a possible PlayStation VR release yet, though we’ll be sure to keep you updated if we do.
