GOLF+ Adds New Course & Announces Separate Immersive Putting App

Payne's Valley, the first public course designed by world-famous golfer Tiger Woods, is the latest addition to the GOLF+ catalog. The recently added Immersive Putting mode will also be spun off to its own app with carryover from the main game.

Payne's Valley is the first in a planned series of five Big Cedar Lodge courses coming to the popular golf sim in the next few weeks. The others will be Buffalo Ridge, Ozarks National, Top of the Rock, and Cliffhangers.

Here's the narrated trailer for Payne Valley:

The southwest Missouri-based course was named in memory of golfer Payne Stewart, a Missouri native who won one PGA Championship in 1989 and the 1991 and 1999 US Opens before passing away later in 1999. Woods designed the course to be accessible to golfers of every skill level, with wide fairways and tight runoffs. It also features a bonus par-3 nineteenth hole designed by Johnny Morris, the owner of Bass Pro Shops who partnered with Woods and others on the overall course.

Payne's Valley is available now for $11.99. Players can also subscribe to the GOLF+ Pass service for $9.99 a month (or $99.99 per year) to get access to all courses.

Immersive Putting To Spin Off To Its Own App

The mixed reality Immersive Putting mode, which allows you to use a real putter and golf ball in your own play space with a virtual green overlaid on your floor, is being spun off to a separate app alongside the main game. Any players who have the current GOLF+ Pass subscription service can rest assured it will carry over to the new app. All stats, handicaps, and medals will also carry over.

This allows players to choose different courses to separately choose which courses to download for full rounds of golf versus ones just designated for putting. It also will negate the need to switch from controllers to hand tracking, depending on the selected mode. The new app is targeted for early November.

GOLF+ is out now on Quest for $29.99 and comes with three original courses. It is also available as part of Meta's Horizon+ subscription service. It can be wishlisted on Steam now ahead of its upcoming release on that platform.
