The Biggest Oculus, SteamVR and Windows Releases Of The Week 11/05/17

The Biggest Oculus, SteamVR and Windows Releases Of The Week 11/05/17

Yet another non-essential week for PC VR owners this week. If you’ve got a new Windows headset then as far as we can tell there isn’t anything new (but that SteamVR preview is arriving next week). On Rift and Vive we have some long-awaited ports and full releases of previously Early Access games, though.

And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR. We also have a top list of the absolute best Oculus Rift and HTC Vive games at the corresponding links.

The Big Releases

Serious Sam 3 VR: BFE, from Croteam
Price: $39.99 (Rift, Vive, currently discounted)

Croteam finally delivers a VR port of its third Serious Sam game to join the first two along with The Last Hope. Grab the biggest guns you can find and take on the biggest enemies around with plentiful movement options as well as single and multiplayer modes. If you want a full FPS on your headset, this is where it’s at.

SuperHyperCube, from Kokoromi
Price: $14.99 (Vive)

The PlayStation VR launch title finally makes its way over to the HTC Vive, though the Rift is still sitting it out. Gather blocks and shift them around to fit rapidly-approaching holes in walls. Increasing difficulty makes this a bit like VR’s very own Tetris.

Racket Fury: Table Tennis VR, from 10Ants Hill
Price: $9.99 (Rift, Vive)

A title long confined to Early Access finally emerges from its pre-release state and it’s pretty much what you’d expect. Racket Fury offers a robot-fueled take on VR’s most imitated sport. With single and multiplayer modes and even the ability to switch between hyper-realistic and more arcadey physics, this may be your new go-to table tennis game.

Space Pirates And Zombies 2, from MinMax Games
Price: $19.99 (Rift, Vive)

Here’s an unexpectedly big release for the week. Space Pirates and Zombies 2 comes out of Early Access with full VR support for a rather brillant concept. Set in a post-apocalyptic galaxy, you have to srurvive with depleted resources in the aftermath of a zombie invasion. Can’t say you thought you’d be doing that this week, can you?
