VR Awards 2019 Opens Nominations Process To Find The Best In VR

Fancy winning yourself a shiny trophy for your latest VR app or product? Then best get your nominations in for the VR Awards 2019.

The UK-based show is set to return later in the year. The Nomination process for the event just opened. This year’s awards will recognize games and apps released between May 2018 and July 2019. Categories include Hardware of the Year, Game of the Year and Film of the year. The full list is below.

Last year’s show saw HTC’s Vive Pro take home the hardware award, with The Gallery: Episode 2 winning Game of the Year. Why apply? Well look at all the people it made happy last year in the below trailer.

Obviously we can’t speak to who will put their games in for nominations, but it seems likely that VR mainstays like Beat Saber and Astro Bot will be put up for awards this year. As for experiences, it would be a crime not to see Spheres get a shout.

Submitting your entry costs £149 + VAT. Nominations will close on May 7th, with two webinar briefings held before then. Once the process closes, a series of judges will pick out a list for each category. Finalists will be announced on June 18th. Expect the awards themselves to be held in late 2019.
