Halloween 2026: Spooky-Themed VR Game Updates & Events

With spooky season upon us, we've rounded up a selection of Halloween-themed updates for games you may already have in your catalog.

This is another in our series of spooky season articles this month. If you are seeking more content, check out our list of horror game recommendations and upcoming horror games.

Updates are listed in alphabetical order by game title and we will update this article as new updates are released. The developers of Convrgence, Hard Bullet, & Ghosts of Tabor are teasing updates on social media we are keeping an eye out for and some of these updates tend to drop late in the month, so check back closer to Halloween for new entries.

Here's our current rundown:

Breachers

Tactical 5v5 FPS Breachers gets into the spirit with a limited-time game mode: Infected. Teams break up into Enforcers tasked with killing any infected in sight or the Infected whose goal is to either take down Enforcers or choke them out with toxic gas grenades. The Infected mode is only available until November 9.

Alongside the temporary game mode, developer Triangle Factory has released Breachers' first character skin DLC pack, the Enforcer's hazmat suit Quarantine skin, for $9.99.

Additionally, the Hideout map, a fan-favorite, gets a Halloween makeover with a nighttime setting and spooky-themed decorations like pumpkins, coffins, and cauldrons.

Medieval Dynasty: New Settlement

Medieval life sim Medieval Dynasty: New Settlement kicked off its annual Halloween Event on October 14. If you haven't done it before, head to the swamps area to find a mysterious grave that starts a hunt for the gravesites of the Spectral Games team. Find them all to unlock a special skull-themed xylophone and new musical track to play as you explore the map. The event also reskins the main menu and several of the settlements in the game, and replaces the birds in the air with bats.

Spectral has also teased additional Halloween surprises before the event ends on November 14.

Phasmophobia Crimson Eye

Phasmophobia's Crimson Eye event is back for a third year. The limited-time special runs through November 1 marked by a red sky lit by a blood moon, cultish markings, and candlelight on the map of investigations. During Crimson Eye, the game ramps in difficulty with faster, more aggressive ghosts, but those brave enough to take on hunts get a bonus percentage of cash and XP.

The event kicked off on October 8 with a Twitch drop campaign to earn an exclusive T-shirt. From October 15 to October 22, you get double experience points and extra rewards. Finally, from October 26 to November 1, Phasmophobia hosts Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts, a crossover event with the American Heart Association with special rewards for participants.

Puzzling Places - Halloween Event

The 48th monthly pack for 3D puzzler Puzzling Places is available now with six new puzzles to dig into, all pictured below:

Finnish Farm (up to 1,000 pieces)
Povrly Blacksmith (up to 1,000 pieces)
Family Dinner (up to 400 pieces)

Monthly Pack #48 is available on Quest and Steam for $5.99.

Real VR Fishing

The free Halloween-themed update for Real VR Fishing adds five maps, including three brand new locations and two returning favorites from previous Halloween events. Each map features a new fish species (some of them quite spooky), while virtual anglers can also catch returning Halloween fish like the Zombie Shark and the Haunted Goblin Shark. Last year's Halloween fish and all 12 fish from the game's sixth-anniversary event will also return.

Table Troopers

Table Troopers is a mixed reality turn-based combat strategy game for up to four players. The $4.99 Halloween Pack includes three new maps, two new trooper types, and four new weapons. The maps are permanently added to your catalog and when you get together with friends, only one person needs to have the new maps for everyone to play.

Virtual Skate

Virtual Skate, a realistic skateboarding sim, has added a special Halloween-themed scavenger hunt. If you are able to locate all six pumpkins in SoCal Night, you will unlock a special 'hellish' portion of the map.
