Solo-developed arcade toy car racer Loony Laps is coming to Quest on December 15.
Created by solo developer Paulo Cunha, Loony Laps is an upcoming toy car racing game that brings the magic of die-cast racing and elaborate toy tracks into mixed reality and VR. It's coming to Quest on December 15 and will cost $12.99. The game can be pre-ordered now.
The game's developer was originally targeting release on only Quest 3 and 3S, but they have now made the game available on Quest 2 and Quest Pro, as well as 3 and 3S.
We've embedded a trailer below which shows off the game's many wacky races.
Loony Laps features 29 handcrafted tracks designed to bring out maximum chaos and laughs. The tracks feature loops, jumps, magnetic hazards, branching paths, mobile obstacles and ridiculous gags. The cars are made to look like little die-cast toys and can be customized with paint, wheels, materials and other cosmetics.
The game is playable in VR, where players race within a dedicated miniature environment, and in mixed reality, where the wacky racetracks appear inside your physical space.
The game will launch with three play modes including Championship, in which progression unlocks cars and tracks, Quick Race, which lets you jump right into a chosen event, and Time Trial, which has you focusing on beating your best times. The game is built around short, replayable arcade sessions.
