Fabula Rasa, the award-winning interactive medieval VR experience from veteran developer Arvore Immersive, comes to Quest on November 12.
Arvore is best known for the Pixel Ripped trilogy and also developed bullet-hell roguelike Yuki and this year's The Boys: Trigger Warning.
Fabula Rasa's comedic story is told through real-time conversations with AI-driven NPCs, using Large Language Models (LLMs) to dynamically respond to you as opposed to traditional pre-written branching dialogue systems that games and experiences like this have typically employed. We saw a similar experience to this in AstroBeam's sci-fi experience Stellar Cafe.
Here's the trailer:
You play as a prisoner trapped in a cage at the center of a medieval town trying to save yourself from being dropped to your death in the monster pit below. To free yourself, you must convince nine locals to assist you. Everything about the story including your crimes and the responses of the townsfolk is shaped by your choices to ensure no two playthroughs are the same.

To further incentivize multiple playthroughs, Fabula Rasa has a mix of different costumes to help spark your interactions and prompt different responses from the NPCs. The team at Arvore also consulted with improv comedians to help shape the LLMs driving the NPCs.
Fabula Rasa won this year's XR Experience Award at the SXSW Film & TV Festival and the Best of Tech award at Miami Filmgate Interactive.
You can wishlist Fabula Rasa for Quest now ahead of its November 12 release.
